Yoshiaki Manabe (真鍋 吉明; born October 2, 1962) has been bringing forth some of the most memorable guitar leads and solos in alternative rock music as part of The Pillows, giving colour to frontman and composer Sawao Yamanaka's songwriting foundations with a quirky sense of tonality coupled with impeccable melodic work. Through his solo work, and debut album Rutile, Manabe repurposes his unique guitar playing style for a setting of reserved instrumental grooves that his melodies transform into soaring epics.
