With songs like "You've Really Got a Hold On Me," "Tracks of My Tears," "Going to a Go-Go," and "Tears of a Clown," Smokey's buttery-smooth tenor and his Miracles backing support spearheaded the upstart Motown label and influenced the entire soul genre after them.
