Downset. (originally called Social Justice) is a rap metal group hailing from Los Angeles, California. They were signed to Mercury Records in 1993 and released two albums on the label, downset. and Do We Speak A Dead Language?, the latter of which reached number 44 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and 116 in the UK. After completing a third album, Mercury was merged into the Island Def Jam Music Group and subsequently the band was dropped from the label; but not before Mercury sold the band's album rights to Epitaph, who released their album, Check Your People, in 2000. ...read more

After releasing Universal on Hawino Records, the band broke up in 2009. They regrouped in 2013 and self-released a new album, One Blood, in 2014. After prolonged inactivity, the band signed to Nuclear Blast Records and released a brand new album, Maintain, in June 2022. « hide |
