Windir was formed in 1994 by Valfar (Terje Bakken). After releasing two demos (Sogneriket and Det Glamte Riket) the first full length came out. Windir has been known for the Viking Black Metal style and the lyrical themes relating to Valfars home region.
Windir ended January 14th, 2004 due to the untimely death of Valfar.
