Early-'90s rockers White Trash never quite fit into any sort of genre, which eventually sunk their career during the alternative rock explosion of 1992. Initially labeled as a hair metal band, they actually cultivated a sound that fit somewhere between Nazareth and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This funk rock style caught on for a short time, giving bands like Mind Funk and Atom Seed a short period of popularity among the metal community. The band kept going, even contributing the theme song to MTV's John Stewart Show in 1993. But they never did quite reach any more success, releasing material under independent labels until 1994 when they disappeared from the music scene altogether. http://www.allmusic.com/artist/white-trash-mn0000251809 « hide
