Warren Zevon hit his claim to fame in 1978 with the release of Excitable Boy. Its dark lyrical content and poppy melodies made for a couple of hits, but he eventually faded into the unknown. Singing twisted songs about headless gunmen, deranged psychopaths, and...well, werewolves...werent exactly what the popular media attracted.
