Saint Etienne, named after the French football team, are an English dance/rock/techno band, Their style involves a fusion between 1990s dance-pop/house and 1960s British pop.



The band was formed in 1988 by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs, former music journalists who serve as keyboardists and producers. They were joined by guitarist/keyboardist Ian Catt, and vocalist Sarah Cracknell, thus forming the final line-up.
