Omar Alfredo Rodríguez López (born September 1, 1975 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico) is the composer, lead guitarist andproducer
for the progressive rock group The Mars Volta, and is the former bassist/guitarist for the post-hardcore outfitAt the
Drive-In. He also frequently releases his own solo material. His solo workings offer soundscapes, funkyvirtuosity, and
ambient textures layered unto one another. Although his shredding can be sloppy at times, Rodriguez-Lopez never fails to take
the song to the next level.
