Momoe Shimano is a Japanese R&B singer that first made her major debut in 1998, at the young age of 24. She initially had
some impressive commercial success, with it reaching an all-time high when her first full length album, 1999's "5.3.1.", broke the
Oricon top 20 charts at number 12, and stayed in the charts for eight weeks. This fame soon faded, as evident by her 2002
album "Girls Voice Studio 11", which only reached number 67 on the Oricon charts. Her singles suffered even poorer sales, when
her last released single, 2003's "Solaris", failed to even break the Oricon charts at all. Although she has not released any original
material since then, she still tours quite regularly, and maintains a fair-sized cult following today.
