The three main tenets of progressive metalcore band Masuda are technicality, groove, and harmony. In late 2014, Annapolis locals John Sacino
and Brandon Chang began a new project which would eventually become the song "Alter Ego". Teaming up with Austin Loos and Nate Lanzino,
Masuda was officially formed. Influences range from heavy hitting acts such as Veil of Maya and Periphery, all the way to softer, introspective
bands such as Balance and Composure and Saosin. Their debut EP "Within", released in the summer of 2015, is a cohesive listen of intertwining
guitar lines, shifting vocal textures, and urgent rhythmic force. Masuda have currently set their sights on live shows, while also working on a full
length release.
