Lost Ubikyst in Apeiron

LOST UBIKYST IN APEIRON is a one man band, that can be considered as progressive extreme metal, with music composed, interpreted, recorded and produced entirely by one musician nicknamed Schrissse. It all started in June 2006 when THE GATEWAY - an atmospheric progressive metal band from Eastern France formed by Schrissse and four other musicians - parted ways. Bitterness there was, but stronger was the will to go on. Between 1997 and 1999, Schrissse was already going solo on composing and recording. 2 4-tracks recorded demos resulted. On this project -THE AFTERGLOW- he played each instruments including the drums. He progressively provided himself with instruments and recording material, in 2007 he threw himself into composing the album that will be baptised in 2014 "Abstruse Imbeciles Nailed On Slavery". An album slowly built up the way a pointillist piece is: composing, recording, musical arrangements, mixing and mastering were all done spontaneously during a 7 years period of maturation at his home studio, Apeiras Recording Pits. Lyrics, dealing mostly with the absurdity and decay of our modern civilization, were written in parallel with this long and fastidious process. Along with thousands of proof-listens in order to spot even the slightest weaknesses concerning interpretation, sound, and digital instruments, mainly to "humanize" the drums at it’s best. The idea was to create an album as mature as possible using the ways and means available. Basking in such influences as Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend, Scarve, Coroner, The Haunted, Fear Factory, Atheist, Septic Flesh, Steve Vai, Nile, Darkane, Opeth, Meshuggah et S.U.P (non-exhaustive), Schrissse reached his goal in June 2013, more than 6 years after starting this project. On top of that, it was self-financed and the creation of consistent artwork required almost a whole extra year. The album finally got released on August, 22 2014. It is available digitally via the LOST UBIKYST IN APEIRON homepage (www.lostubikystinapeiron.com) and also through the band's Bandcamp page, while awaiting for bigger networks to distribute the CD. Schrissse is now trying to gather some musicians together in order to offer a live version of "Abstruse Imbeciles Nailed On Slavery " in the near future. Meanwhile, new tracks are on the way... « hide
