Keith Whitley got his start as a teenager as a member of bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley's band. He decided to turn to country music in the 1980's, barely becoming a star before he drunk himself to death in 1989, having more alcohol than blood in his system. To this day, he still has a devoted following.
