Isengard is a one man Folk-Black Metal band. The sole member of the band was Fenriz of Darkthrone. He released six albums before the project collapsed. Four of them were demos. The name Isengard comes from the book Lord of the Rings. Isengard's logo was taken from an old Lord of the Rings RPG called MERP. The original illustration represents Thuringwethil, the vampire from Tolkien's book The Silmarillion. Originally Isengard was an 80s Death/Black Metal sounding band, but it quickly developed into a heavily Darkthrone influenced style of Folk-Black Metal.
