''My name is Evan Thomas Weiss and this is Into It. Over It.
I guess you wanna know what this is about. Well, this one time I wrote, recorded and released one song every week for an entire year. It was called 52 Weeks and was released as a double CD by a label called No Sleep. This other time I wrote twelve songs about twelve US towns. I guess you wanna know what this is about. Well, this one time I wrote, recorded and released one song every week for an entire year. It was called 52 Weeks and was released as a double CD by a label called No Sleep. This other time I wrote twelve songs about twelve US towns. Those songs were (and are) being released on six split seven-inch records that also feature Bob Nanna, Lauren Lo, CSTVT, Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate), Pswingset, Everyone Everywhere and Snowing. Labels called Topshelf, Count Your Lucky Stars and Evil Weevil are responsible for those.
A bunch of other times, I went on tour, and played some shows in thirty-five US states. Then, this one time, I went to Europe and played forty shows in twelve countries. I used to play in a couple bands called The Progress and Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start, but that isn't too important. I'm twenty-five years old. I live in Chicago. I'm six-foot-two. I'm a Libra. I have a beard. My shoes are a size nine. I'm always busy. I'm always broke. I'm (almost) always happy. I write songs. Let's kick it.''
Since that little MySpace biography was written, Evan has toured solo on an international scale and released many records under his solo Into It. Over It. project, including a split LP with fellow singer-songwriter Koji and his debut album Proper, both out on No Sleep Records. Since 2011, he formed and fronted three other bands including Stay Ahead of the Weather (featuring members of Into It. Over It.'s first touring lineup), Their / They're / There (alongside the legendary Mike Kinsella of Owen and former Loose Lips Sink Ships member Matthew Frank), and the power-pop trio Pet Symmetry with members of Dowsing. After starting his own record label, Storm Chasers Ltd., Weiss recorded his second studio album under the Into It. Over It. moniker, entitled Intersections, which was released on September 24th, 2013 on Triple Crown Records. « hide |
