Carissa's Wierd

Carissa's Wierd was an indie rock band from Seattle that formed in 1995 and disbanded in late 2003. Kurt B. Reighley describes their sound as "chamber rock". The band deliberately misspelled the word "Weird" in their name. Following the band's breakup, Jenn Ghetto continued to pursue a solo project under the name "S". Sera Cahoone started her own solo project. Mat Brooke and Ben Bridwell went on to form Band of Horses. Brooke did not tour with the group, however, and his departure was announced in July 2006. He later formed a new band, Grand Archives, whose first demos appeared online in March 2007. Cahoone, Band of Horses, and Grand Archives are all on Sub Pop records as of 2008.
