After releasing several records on the Orange County punk label Fearless Records, At the Drive-In brought its theatrical blend of punk rock and social revolution to Grand Royal. Perhaps the most captivating thing about At the Drive-In was the immense energy they put into their live shows. Wether it be guitarist Omar Rodriguez-lopez's uncanny salsa dancing around the stage or frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala's crowd-taunting antics, the emotion At the Drive-In put into their live show was one of many things that made them stick out of the crowd.
The furious and emotional tracks "Pattern Against User" and "One Armed Scissor" offer a taste of the pure sonic power of At the Drive-In's final full-length album, Relationship of Command. The record is an arresting sonic attack, highlighted by vocalist Cedric Bixler's confrontational, rhythmic, rapid-fire delivery. Sadly, At the Drive-in split in 2001, shortly after the sucess of Relationship of Command.
