Alan Silvestri is an American film composer and conductor best known for his collaborative efforts with director Robert Zemeckis; Silvestri has been responsible for every film score for Zemeckis' films since 1984's Romancing the Stone -- other notable films include Forrest Gump (1995), Cast Away (2000), Back to the Future II and III (1989-1990) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988). Silvestri's style has been noted for its ecleticism through horn blasts, staccato strings and use of the octatonic scale (early works).
