Release Date: 1991 | Tracklist

Torture Tactics, a small EP from the band Vio-Lence, known for their very speedy thrash metal. This EP has four tracks included a live track "Officer Nice" which was included in their follow-up album "Oppressing The Masses", this EP was released in 1991 after "Opperssing The Masses". The band members are the same as the first one and will say Sean Killian and his so called "buzzing bee"-vocals, Rob Flynn and Phil Demmel on the guitars, Dean Dell with his bass and Perry Strickland on the drums. The songs on this EP is some of the most raw or disgusting lyrics thay have written, they are also a bit violent too.

The tracks has the same kind of speed and somewhat same structure except that the riffing is a bit more complex but not much. The songs has been described as "straight-up sub-Exodus thrash metal. The opening track "Torture Tactics" delivers heavy but intensive drumming and guitars right at the start and the whole song is based around this intenesiveness, the song have some small pattern changes but the is pretty much speed metal. And here is the live track "Officer Nice", the band is very good when it comes to play live because the play this song like running water, the only fix is that Sean beg the fans to not go upp on the stage or they will be kicked out from the show. The song is quite intensive but in the chorus the song slows down, the rhythm guitars are great and the whole song is great in other words plus that the other members does the backup singing. The third track "Gutterslut" has more of these complexive shredds/riffs, the song is pretty catchy. The song is about this slut that he is banging around with and then kick her out when he is done, pretty simple. At last we have come to the last track of this short EP, the song "Dicks Of Death" must be one of the most goofiest and funniest songs I've heard yet. The song is about their giant ding-dongs and stuff about them, the song is more hard rock than metal but the song is catchy. Lyric example: "My dick's so big I have to wrap it around my leg", "12 inches of dangling doom, ough!".

Well thats about it, I think that this was a quite enjoying EP but it was to short in my opinion. As I said the songs is pretty much as their earlier stuff and I guess I can recommend this to thrash metal fans but the last track "Dicks Of Death" I would recommend to anybody becasue it is quite funny, it is more like a like-or-hate song. Hope this short review helped but this is everything that I can come up with about this EP.

PROS
+ Fans that liked their first album would enjoy this
+ The riffs are a bit more variating
+ The last track "Dicks Of Death"

CONS
- Female listeners would be pissed if they listen to the lyrics in some songs
- The lyrics is quite violent and obscure
- To few songs

RECOMMENDED TRACKS

Dicks Of Death

Overall album rating will be: 2.5/5 (but pretty close to 3/5)

You should also mention that the reason this EP was made was because the record label didn't want the song Torture Tactics on Opressing The Masses as it was originally intended.
