Review Summary: summer punk
Think about the best times you've ever had in summer. About the beach trips with friends, the long nights, the hookups, the awesome shows every week. Summer Vacation (based in Southern California, naturally), captures these feelings and more on their last LP
Condition. Every track evokes memories of one's time summer, whether it be carefree or stressful.
Condition is jam-packed with sing-a-long melodies, catchy riffs and fills, and a breath of passionate choruses that'll get stuck in your head all day. However, for all the good feelings the record brings about, it's a decidedly shallow listen, as the simple song structures and throwaway lyrics don't add a semblance of depth. But due to the charm and excitement jam-packed into each song on
Condition, the album holds a fair amount of value to re-listen to. It may not be the most thoughtful or complex you've ever heard, but if you're looking for a feel-good record, Summer Vacation is your type of band.
