Lord Gore started as a side project of black metal band Wraithen in 1998 and then became a full time death/grind band. Lord Gore are not for the average Death metal fan, it took me a good while to get used to the strange pig like squeeling and toilet bowl growls that the vocalist uses (with no effects!) This band delivers catchy songs with often funny and very fitting samples and they are utterrly gore obsessed lyrics wise. Its all here!
Lord Gore - The Autophagous Orgy
Lord Gore on this album is
Gurge - Vocals/Guitar/Bass
SCSI - Guitar/Bass
Nekro - Vocals
Colon Bowel - Drums
Now like i said above, Lord Gore takes a good bit of getting used to. But once i adjusted the pig squeels I was hooked! The first thing i noticed about this album is the brilliant production. This album was recorded in a home studio and for a home studio album it sounds fantastic, especially on eery tracks like
Morgewhore which is incredibly catchy!
Also, the samples used here are amazing and always very fitting with the song that follows. All samples i can guess are taking from horror movies, as i was able to recognise a clip from "Evil Dead" at the start of the song
Forgotten Flesh
Nekro's vocals on all tracks have this incredily guttural feel to them accompanied by the insane pig squeels from Gurge.
This record is just all round amazing for anyone who is a fan of gore metal. I say fan because i don't feel that anyone could just pick up this album and enjoy it, which is sad but because of this particular genre it restricts the fan base Lord Gore are able to have. A lot of people can be sickened and put off by their lyrics and then there is the weird sick sounding vocals...
But everything has its ups and downs. But I definately enjoy this album and i feel a lot of other would aswell.
Pros
Overall really catchy songs
Great samples that fit the songs perfectly
Its Gore metal!
Cons
Definatley not for everybody
The strange extremely guttural growls can be off putting
Its Gore metal!
