The black EP is dark, distorted, and bleak from its sound to its lyrics. Lyrically its focus on negative emotions and human corruption fits with the tone. In my opinion this has the best execution of its interpretation of its color out of all them.

Electronic and aggressive alt-prog antics with some post-hardcore touches. It's the band at its heaviest and at its most rhythmic, but eh idk doesn't grab me.

Great way to begin "The Color Spectrum" collection. Gets things going with some heavy hitting, energy-filled alt-prog croons and prepares the listener perfectly for the next EP. 3.8/5

Its actually really original, and it's really epic at times. It's sounds like nothing they've done before. That said, its still kinda weird.....and there's a couple moments that make me question what Casey was trying to do with this EP.......a nice, quirky way to start off the spectrum, but I gotta say there a few awkward moments that I can't ignore. It's still excellent at most points though, definitely unlike anything the band has ever done. Weird maybe, but one of the more interesting ep's.
