Review Summary: Catchy auto-tuned post-hardcore with gothic undertones................prepare to be turned.
Let me start off by saying that this is my first review, and I know the kind of hate I'm probably going to get for reviewing an album that seems to be very hated by other sputnik music users.
With that aside, I would like to say that Vampires Everywhere (yes, I will be sticking with their original name during this review for the sake of continuity) have made a darn good album that is hated by some and loved by others. First, let me point out some of the pros about this album: the beautiful auto tune vocals, the ghostly synths, the screeching screams, the crushing guitar, and the catchy as hell choruses. This album borders on electronicore with the best examples being "Silver Bullets Don't Kill Vampires" and "Bleeding Rain". The lyrics are also worth mentioning. They revolve around the vampire theme and I know some people might think that the lyrics are cliche, but Michael Vampire (lead singer) writes them so well that they sound like some screwed up gothic vampire love story. I also know that a lot of people hate the auto tune vocals, but I don't think that Michael is using auto tune because he can't sing, I think that he uses it because its adds an aura to the bands sound that I personally haven't heard from many other acts.
All in all, this album is pretty cool. This band definitely leans toward a younger audience, and I know that some metal elitists will say that these guys are just boring scenesters, but Vampires Everywhere don't care, and their doing something meaningful with their lives, and I honestly don't see how people hate them for that. Even if their not completely original they're still catchy as hell and you can't help but sing along. So be ready to kiss the sun goodbye my darling, because here comes the night.
