Prototype is an initially enjoyable listen, but it doesn't seem to hold much retaining value. The music is pleasantly dark, but there's simply too much of the same idea and in the end Matta fails to differentiate himself from the scene he finds himself immersed in.

I really haven't listened to much dubstep other than what Deviant might link someone in a random comment/list but I can honestly say that Matta's debut trumps about everything I've heard. Go give the opening track "Mass" and "Hecq:Sura (Remix by Matta) a listen, you're already here reading this so you should be a fan of the genre (even if you just listen casually). I might be rating this so high due to pure ignorance of what else is out there, but I truly like it enough for a rating this high.
