4.0 excellent | Nicksput | January 3rd 18 | HFM2 is Lloyd Banks best album, and one of the best projects ever associated with the G-Unit camp. The album features Banks transformation from punchline king to a more well rounded, descriptive and energetic lyricist. The money sniff on Father Time is a great example, as this is something he probably wouldn't have tried during the Unit's heydey. The mostly unknown producers do a great job as well, again making some of the best beats Banks has had to rap over. The main problem is that this album is very heavily frontloaded. It's starts with track 9 (Celebrity) out of 13, and goes downhill from there, with nothing but filler. There is nothing terrible on there, but the immediacy of the first 8 tracks seems like an afterthought. It's fine to listen to them as standalone tracks, as there is no central theme on here, just some solid songs and some filler. The best tracks are Take 'Em to War, Unexplainable, Payback, Father Time, So Forgetful and the fantastic Beemer Benz or Bentley.
