The Swear is an alternative rock band in Atlanta. The Swear is made up of lead singer and guitar player Elizabeth Elkins, guitarist Jeremy Zamora, bassist Kevin Williams, and drummer Kent Aberle. Their debut album Every Trick’s A Good One has received great reviews and airtime on many U.S. radio stations.

Every Trick’s A Good One consists of six songs, each song showcasing the individuality and the unique writing styles of Elizabeth Elkins and Jeremy Zamora. But don’t be fooled, bassist Kevin Williams and drummer Kent Aberle radiate throughout the album. Kent’s astounding drumming abilities are manifested on “List” and “Letters Faded”. Kevin tears up “January”. The album’s highlight tracks are “Last Breath”, “The Sleep Inside”, and “January”. “January” provides perhaps the best representation of the band’s unique style. With vivid and biting lyrics like-
“the only time I feel alive
is the rush of these threats and the rush of these lies
but I don’t believe in suicide
no I don’t believe” you can’t help but recognize Elizabeth’s ability to convey such intensity in her songwriting.

This album has numerous positives and very few, if any negatives. The most prominent positive of this album is the band’s unique style and passion throughout all of the songs. The Swear is ready to take over the music world with an exceptional album like this one. However, there is a negative part to this album. The album is only comprised of six songs. While these six songs are awe-inspiring, the band has the potential to release a full length album and it will be just as great as this one is.

The Swear has everything it takes to make it big in the music industry- original guitar riffs, energetic drumming, admirable bass playing, and compelling lyrics. This album is a must have for fans of rock music. It’s one of those albums that you can listen to nonstop without ever getting tired of it. The songs are enjoyable to no end.
