Had Pink Floyd continued its commercially successful Wish You Were Here trajectory with productive Waters-Gilmour collaborations and equally important contributions from Richard Wright and Nick Mason, its tail end discography might resemble Airbag's emotionally charged Identity. Unabashed Gilmour disciple Bjorn Riis honors his hero with stellar guitar solos concentrating on quality rather than quantity. Tonality and pacing of the album falls between a less robust Porcupine Tree and more relaxed Riverside, especially with the vocals. Jorgen Hagen's keyboards enlarge Airbag's presence to a majestic entrancing soundscape. The choice cut here is How I Wanna Be, an intoxicating and beautiful track of isolation and pleading for resolution.

Identity is a great debut portraying Airbag's influences in the likes of Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd. It contains some memorable guitar melodies, while the melodramatic keyboards and Bjorn's enticing vocal harmonies consolidate into eight beautifully crafted prog tracks. Recommendations: "No Escape", "Sounds That I Hear", "Steal My Soul".

A good debut album that's marred by repetitive noodling and overly-drawn out song. Delicious guitar, bass and lush atmospherics are its saving grace.

If the next album sounds a bit more like Airbag a little less like their idols then we have something great to come.rI can only give 4 for this superb album. It sounds so god d... good. This is Pink Floud territory. Im not kidding when I say that 5 or 6 of the songs on this album would blend in fine if Pink Floyds DSOTM or WYWH were double albums and these songs were put in.rThe sound and guitar is so much mid 70 pink Floyd that it can be. rAnd though its not at all copy it is still a bit too much like their idols.rBut the next album......I cant wait.
