I remember a review of this compilation saying that if you enjoyed the tracks on their full-lengths named "(Something)" or "Instrumental" then you'd love Blood because that's pretty much what every one of these tracks, save for a few gems like "Slighted By Mirah" (Silent Hill 2 reference, maybe? :D) are. Plenty of it is made up of singular instruments from previously recorded songs, whether they be horns, drums, or even vocalizing. Others deal with tape manipulation and there's a few reworkings as well, like how "Sleepy Hollow" reworks "Headless Horseman". They're all pretty nice, but nothing is really all that special. It's got that endearingly human quality that permeates most Microphones records, and that of course makes it an enjoyable listen, but this is definitely a work for the fans.
