Review Summary: a great album robbed of its glory via the pathetic lead vocalist. For a nicely recorded album, this seems dismally unprofessional, but then again, that’s the point – in typical post-hardcore fashion, it is incredibly sketchy. Every little mistake, every lapse in timing, and every glaring flaw is boldly displayed in this album, for better or for worse. In one sense, it’s refreshing to hear raw music at its messiest, ignoring cheap production tricks. Sometimes it is good to look back at old albums that claim pure, untarnished music. Note the use of the word “Sometimes”, for it is definitely difficult to look back at an album with such irritating noise. Then again, that is the price for checking out this LP – take it or leave it.
When I said this album had irritating noise, I was mostly referring to the “singer” - what an awful singer. I can understand and even appreciate it when bands strive to have a raw, dirty sound, but this crap is unacceptable. I have a high tolerance for below average singing, but this vocalist has hit new lows with his cow/sloth hybrid vocals. I doubt anyone could sound that bad if they tried. Hearing his voice is seeing a room filled with dead pigs being devoured by maggots – the sight and stench is so repulsive you gag instantly.
If they had a different singer, this could have been a pretty great album. The bass licks are nicely audible and decent, the electric guitar is loud and pleasantly melodic, and the drums are suitably decent. Also, the band is surprisingly experimental, barely sticking with post-hardcore as they brush with hard rock and metal. Mostly though, the sketchiness of the band makes this a post-hardcore album, as does the vocalist’s screamed/sung vocals. There really is nothing else to be said about this album. If you like bumpy post-hardcore you might like this, maybe.

Upon hearing it tho i think the amazingly illustrated image was a bit harsh, considering that
they're a emo-pop-hardcore band from the older days wen dis pop/core vocal approach was more or less
popular :P
| | | I quote from some random youtuber that i came across during my previous search lol: (to a video of a chruch band that named themselves falling forward) "Change your band name idiots.. Falling Forward was one of the best Emo-Core bands of the early to mid 90s.. That's like calling yourself Metallica.."
