If I had a band, it would consist of just me and my buddy. We both love doom drone, so our band would be of some doom inspired nature. We also love the band Earth like the fathers we never had, or were too angry to care about, whichever that may be. If one band deserves a tribute, it'd be them. Those dark, evil guitar riffs just push our buttons so well, we wouldn't be able to pass it up. Especially him, because he's a dirty boy. Hell, we'll even name a song or two after them. So, this band would consist of just the two of us, a duo if you will. Kind of like the White Stripes but without all the percussion and pencil mustaches. Who needs percussion anyway? We'll be a guitar driven band. Both of us will play guitar, since he can't play bass and I'm just too damned lazy. Well, maybe we'll stick in some bass, but it'll all sound the same anyway.

Speaking of sound, our's will be in that patented drone metal style. We'll play a note or two for an excruciatingly long period of time, without ever letting off or changing pitch enough to make it sound like any sort of thought or composition went into it. Call it "dark ambient" if you will. Not the good, happy kind of ambient like Brian Eno or some sucker like that. That's no fun. This is gonna be like "apocalypse yesterday, and there's nothing left but a scorched sky" type of ambience. The kind that makes you wet your pants (or poo, hopefully). Long songs, and I mean long songs. Like over 15 minutes long. And I don't want any pansy variations in it or anything like that. Just a droning buzz. That's all we need. Nothing but droning. That's what true dark ambience is all about, and that's all we want. We'll make all the songs sound exactly the same, too, because having an album with songs you can differentiate between is for loser pop bands. But now we need a name. Hmmm... a name, a name. What to use for a name? Ah yes. Inspired by our favourite amplifiers, we'll call ourselves:

Sunn O)))

Odd review, yet it tells the whole story. Never heard this band, and I never want to after this.

One day I decided to listen to Khanate and Sunn O))) just to try them out since they had been recommended to me. It's not miserable. It's not particularly close to being even mediocre. It's definitely bad. But I mean, it's just because it's trying to do something that I have yet to hear anybody pull of in a palatable or incredibly interesting way.

Cheeto, Mooon D))) is awful. But Sunn has some sweet moments on their albums. Like when they used Attila Cshiar for vocals.

The only thing I don't like about them is that I get dizzy listening to them after about 10 minutes.

I've really been meaning to hear some stuff from this band. Could someone preferable upload something (cbmartinez24@yahoo.com) or send over AIM (finchevelle73).
