Release Date: 2004 | Tracklist

Back in 2003, this band was releasing their first album, Lowest Of The Low. Terror are now striking again with their second album, One With The Underdogs. This new album is now under the label Trustkill. They were previously signed with Bridge 9. To the one that aren't familiar with Terror, they are an agressive hardcore band from Los Angeles. In fact this band is build by many hardcore veteran. The most well-known, Scott Vogel, is the frontman of this band. To make the story short, he was the singner of many former hardcore bands such as Buried Alive, Despair and Slugfest. Nick Jett, who is playing drums is from the former band Carry On. The bassist Carl Schwartz and the guitarist Doug Weber are both members of the current band First Blood, but also ex-members of Sworn Vengeance. Finally the last member, Frank Novinec is the guitarist of Ringworm. So all these
guys mix together give something really great to hear.

One With The Underdogs is quite longer that the first Terror album. It last more than 30 minutes, it is maybe a bit short but you still have 13 songs to taste. I really like how Terror sound, it is agressive, powerful and loud. Their sound is influance by a lot of old school hardcore bands, with the addition of metallic riffs. Well in fact, I really like the guitar job. Sometime fast, sometime slower, the guitar make feel is presence in each song. You will hear awesome breakdowns and great riffs on this album. The bass guitar do the job but could be a little bit louder. As for the drum, Nick Jett do an awesome job. The drum is loud and give the right rythme to every tracks. He can also play really fast which make some songs even better. As for the vocal, I just can't complain about it. It's Scott Vogel, he is one of my favorite hardcore vocalist. The way he yell is quite impressive, he give a lot of energy to each songs. So, in overall, the sound is great. Also the production quality is much better than for Lowest Of The Low. You will also hear great amount of good songs. The first song, the agressive One With The Underdogs, is an amazing opening and also a great taste of what will come next. You will also find Overcome which is one of my personal favorite. This song have impressive guitar riffs and also awesome breakdown. You will also hear nice back up shout during the song which give a lot of vigor to it.

Also, you will hear the really fast song Keep Your Mouth Shut, this song has also great back vocals and awesome breakdowns. We can not forget Less Than Zero which is also an excellent track. You will hear Hard Cory from Hatebreed as a guest vocal on the song Crushed By The Truth and also Freddy Cricien from Madball on the song Find My Way. Well, both guest vocals do really good jobs on each songs Great job from Terror, no filler songs on this album. As for the lyrics, they are really in your face and they go straight to the point. They are well written, but could be better. The lyrics talk about fake people (people that only care about what you look like), about society problems, the hardcore scene, friends, family, to always give your best and never back down. The lyrics are quite similar to other hardcore bands but they really do the job in my opinion. Here is an example of lyrics take in the song One With The Underdogs: Had to scratch and fight, just to stay on my feet. With a heart made of steel, I smashed through everything. I think this sentence really give a good overview of what the album stand for, that whatever your problems are, to never give in. As for the packging, you will see great artwork on the cover and on the back. The bocklet is fill with pictures of band members. The only thing missing I think, is the Overcome video, I think it would have been a great idea to put it on the album. So in conclusion,
I recommand this album to any fans of this band or fans of hardcore. It is simply excellent, once again Terror hit us with a stunning release. In my opinion this album is as good as Lowest of The Low.

So, I give this album 4.5/5.

I listened to "We Are Alive?"and "Not This Time" by my friend. I hated it. Of course there are people who like terror, but I think it is too heavy.

Nice writing Fabz.

I actually grew tired of the other songs I heard from this band's other older record, but I'll take a couple of these for a spin as well.

Your writing continues to get better....

More.

Ewww.... I don't like this. It's so generic and boring. Scott Vogel is in bad, boring bands. Nice review though.

I love this ablbum! I love this band! They are pretty tight and slightly posi-core style. But there is nothing better than banging your head to this album when your girlfriend broke up with you!
