Is this it? the album that single-handedly started the underground lo-fi rage. Inspiring literally hundreds of indie and post-punk acts even today, this album is a brilliantly produced (in the sense that the garage like under-production suits the band perfectly) slab of genuinely classy and fun indie. From the off the song quality is superb with deceptively good guitar riffs, mesmerizing bass lines and tight drumming all interweaving around Casablancas' dream like vocals. Without a single bad track, this is amazingly consistent, making standout tracks merely personal preference and nothing else. All that is left to say is that without ant doubt in my mind, yes this is it!
