I think blackened deathcore might be my new favourite genre.

A ridiculously heavy slab of blackened deathcore with pretty bleak songwriting that reminds me of
Ascendants by Oceano. I can't tell what's tighter; my asshole after listening to this or the
performance of everyone on here.

Not a single filler track. It may seem absurd, but yes i do think this album is a 4.5. It's incredibly unique and well
written (especially considering the genre). I can already see the lasting appeal of this album.

It's always nice to see a band keep improving with each and every release, and so far in their young careers, Lorna Shore have done exactly this. Flesh Coffin, from a songwriting standpoint, is well above average, juxtaposing intense blasts of speed with pummeling breakdowns and a surprisingly excellent sense of melodicism. Any issues with the album can be traced back to its production, as it seems a bit too clean and thin for this style. That it still manages to be a good record despite this is a testament to how the band has grown as songwriters. The tone is set wonderfully by opener "Offering Of Fire", bringing the relentless energy and intensity the band performs so well with to a seamless marriage of melodic stylings that never seem forced or out of place. The vocals are somewhat of an acquired taste; they're almost always layered, which can become grating at certain intervals, but whenever they're not layered they're wonderful. Lorna Shore is experiencing no sophomore slump with Flesh Coffin, and should they improve on this one, they'll put themselves squarely at the forefront of the modern deathcore scene.

it is so difficult binging derpcore albums dude. they do the exact same fucking thing track after track and all it rly does is make me crave actual death metal instead of this poseur shit. i mean yeah on a very rare fucking album across an entire discog there is the possiblity of a decent track, maybe even 2, but even then its due to their incorporating many much non derpcore elements. this album itself tries a little bit i guess with such elements, but im so fucking bored and it feels so much longer than 45 mins like fuck off mate. lorna fucking bore
