I do not listen to a lot of Pagan Metal but from time to time I stumble across an album or a song
from this genre that I really enjoy. "Des Wolfes Zorn" is such an album. Combining classical Heavy
Metal with Melodic Death Metal elements, harsh Black Metal vocals, Folk elements and typically
cheesy German Pagan Metal lyrics (Nordic gods at war, lonely wolves wandering through a cold
world, hating everyone, etc.) VARGRIMM create a pretty unique sound on their debut album.
Considering that there is a shedload of Black Metal influenced Pagan bands in Germany it is good
to know that not all of them are sounding the same but that there are bands like VARGRIMM that
push the boundaries of the genre a little bit and create their very own style.
