If this were a new band called Neon Renegade and the 80s pastiche gimmick stuck with the brats as a fun, fresh musical direction this would be album of 2016. The actual facts are it's plastic rubbish churned out by whores who are desperate to cling on to the transparent nothing they held for almost 5mins because they were a 9yr old girls fave band for 5seconds. I have no doubt sowing will 4.5 it.

Decent, and really fun. Nowhere near as good as any of the other pop released this year, but my wife is going to love the ever loving shit out of this.

same old band from the past. if you enjoy their music, you'll probably dig this one. otherwise, just skip it. 2

I'm not entirely sold on this one. I understand the need for Busted to avoid trying to cash in on their old popularity but they wear their influences on their sleeves far too often, and there's only a few tracks such as "Coming Home" and "Easy" where they actually seem to be carving out their own identity and acknowledging aspects of their past. However, if you want catchy pop-rock with more than a subtle bit of electronic music and dance melodies, you're better off with Charlie Simpson's other new band Once Upon A Dead Man.

Who would've thought Busted of all groups would return in 2016 with an '80s-revival album? Perhaps the bigger surprise is that so much of this is actually solid throwback pop rock. Much of the content is painfully generic, particularly the lyrics, but that's no surprise considering the source. What is genuinely unexpected is how the group genuinely avoids the temptation to call back their earlier years of painfully formulaic "pop punk", and most of the best moments on the album are the ones that sound nothing like old Busted whatsoever.
