Review Summary: 'We Are Night Sky', starts strong but immediately crashes, and is unable to entirely leave the conflagrations it itself had created.

Dax Riggs (known for his involvement in such band as Acid Bath and Agents Of Oblivion) and Tessie Brunet have collaborated resulting in 'We Are Night Sky', the second album from Deadboy and the Elephantmen. The opener starts strong, maybe too strong as the rest of the album does not keep the same pace. A mix of punk, indie and swamp rock the albums features some high points and vacillates itself with boring, meandering low points.

'Stop, I'm Already Dead', as the opener sets the album off on a high, the riffs sludge and stomp threw the track and dax's vocals compliment the song, with Tessie and Dax leaving a lot to be desired. The next song 'No Rainbow', halts the rampage with boring, insipid acoustics and very obnoxious vocals that slowly drag on for four minutes - this begins the downfall of the album, as these long slow tracks persist threw out the entirety of the album. 'How Long The Night Was', this song fails to pick up from the opener, but isn't a bad: heavy riffs, simple drumming and Dax, suggesting something happened during the night makes the song just average. 'Ancient Man', similar to the latter is unable to beguile the expectation laid out by the opener, and is again just another average song. 'Dressed In Smoke', i believe this isn't a bad song - it does drifts to the end devoid of emotion but there is something enjoyable about the main meat of the song, but the album doesn't need another slow song, and because of this the album is close to being abandoned. 'Blood Music', begins its redemption, featuring distorted slugging riffs and hypnotic drums the song is immediately interesting. 'Walking Stick', immediately thwarts its redemption as it slows the album and brings an unwanted rest in the form of a agitating song. 'Kissed By Lightning', picks up where blood music left off - fast booming riffs, erratic drumming and good vocals makes it one of the strongest songs on the album. 'Misadventures Of Dope', this is first time on the album where two good songs directly follow each other and with 3 more songs left the album it should finally pick itself back up. 'Break It Off', bearable and somewhat enjoyable, the song meanders somewhat but if the next song is good the album should be able to pick itself back up! 'Evil Friend', a boring terrible song that again lasts too long, this is not what the album needed and leads us to final song. 'What The Stars Have Eaten', ruminating the same line 'innocent magic.... stronger than evil', the song isn't neither is it good and just leaves you with an embittered taste surrounding the album. I would recommend skipping this one.
