"The drummers from Deerhoof and Hella? Joanna Newsom?"
Nervous Cop is just as strange as it may sound when first hearing about it. Reckless and chaotic drumming combined with harp and electronics; this is, essentially, Nervous Cop in a nutshell.
The first half of the album is comprised of short, pointless drummery. On the other hand, the last five songs here are entertaining enough for the spazz in all of us. While Newsom does her thing ("Frank vs. Frank") or electronics and noise are piled on ("Nuflesh, Old Thirst"), a kind of goofy havoc is created that is perfect for romps in a McDonald's ball pit.
This is an album for ADD America.
