Not sure where the complaints are coming from on this, I feel the opposite of all of them. The
short songs are nice, but they're in and out too quick. The longer songs have more room to breathe
and more time to build (and back-build), lending a greater impact and leaving a more lasting
impression (especially Eiswanderer). The vocals are great. Vicious and clear without being
overwhelming, they're present, toned down, and intensified at the right times and blend well with
the atmosphere created here (which is pleasantly subtle compared to the almost forced
atmospherics many bands are attempting these days).
At it's heart this is a very well written, extremely well executed album that brings an almost
perfect blend of quiet (eis)wandering, methodical instrumentation (with some fantastic base work
that's actually audible, somewhat of a rarity in bm), and blazing cold riffage that rips and tears
as much as it soars.

The shiny production and really unusual sense of saminess throughout make this really difficult to sit through, and engage you at all. It has riff, but they don't strike you significant at all.

Excellent album, though it took me a while to get into it. I think it's because of the first two songs, which I thought at first were a little too long for their own good, but then the rest of the album automatically impressed me and kept me hooked. With the exception of the brilliant final song, I prefer the two shorter tracks ("Einkehr" and "Verbund") to the lengthier material, but as a whole this is simply a well-written, well-performed black metal release.

i guess their debut was just a fluke. verbund is a jam but the rest is standard atmo black with agalloch influences

@Serenityinaz12rThe guy performing the vocals was in a metal/deathcore band before, that might explain some of the "influences" that you hear. Even though he did not perform vocals in the previous band.

"stellar" black metal album. it is very violent, especially with the tremendously fast drums, and the wretched sounding vocals. not so much "a good listen" as it hard hitting. i really like the album though.

Not sure what the fuss is about here. Musically it's decent if not a bit repetitive. Vocally I could barely take it, sounds like they stuck a scream-o / metalcore vocalist on top of a black metal group of musicians. Just doesn't fit the sound.
