4.5 superb | robertsona STAFF | November 24th 20 | Love the implicit entropy of the sonic "narrative" of this album: how it gets more and more dissonant. Love "Haru" a lot too.

5.0 classic | SlowlyFallingAwake | March 28th 12 | Hearing this album feels as though you're sitting outside on a warm summer's day with a dry mouth, accompanied by a mind that drifts away and a restlessness that you can't put your finger on. The wind is swiftly encircling around you, passing by in short howls, trees all around are swaying. You can almost taste the silence and if it would have a taste, it would be... exquisite. Rather than a general 'listen' this atmospheric/glitchy gem demands to be experienced.

0.0 | Slaapkamers | June 12th 07 | A collaboration between Christian Fennesz and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Cendre serves as a soundtrack to a drifting summer's evening. Sakamoto's melancholy piano work mixes perfectly with Fennesz's use of ambient textures and guitar, which float and bounce around the contemplative and deliberate piano figures. This is not an album that requires the constant attention of the listener; most of the sounds here are meant to be felt, not heard.
