2.1 poor | Erwann S. STAFF | April 15th 21 | Certainly the most e x p e r i m e n t a l record of the Coin Coin collection yet, River Run Thee sees jazz become a secondary feature here, most of the record consisting in Roberts singing/howling/moaning on top of ambient/drone recordings. Some saxo is thrown in there from time to time, but in such a "free" way that the album can only count on its cryptic nature to appeal to listeners.

0.0 | puntugruhm | April 2nd 15 | another great production from this series of chapters. a truly excellent album complete with beautiful soft-spoken vocals and ambient tendencies, free jazz, and almost field recording like drones. really cool samples layered on top of free saxophone and bright pad synths as well as vocals. nominee for jazz aoty.

3.5 great | thatdamnpunk | February 12th 15 | Though perhaps this album doesn't reach the explosive heights of Coin Coin Ch.1 I do think this album is a fantastic example of how to mix electronic music with experimental jazz. In a 12 part album series there are bound to be some sound overhauls. Personally I welcome the change, and It turned out to be a truly fantastic release. I can't wait to see what she does next.
