Mix what post-hardcore has brought us in the past with some rough math rock velocity and you've got yourself one hell of an EP. I'm glad to have started here with this band and definitely look forward to more. I would elaborate that the reissue of this is a technical improvement, but I always seem to come back to this version. The crispness and barebones ascetic seems to be more pleasing to my ears and allows me to hear every note with that extra ... umphh.

EDIT: The first few times I listened to this through and through, all I could hear was the absence of the
strings and keys. The difference between their debut and this one are both slight and immense;
without the melodic backing section, the bands technicality is highly accentuated. Bare bones and
even more mathy this time around, I couldn't compute it at first. A couple years later though, this
record is close to my heart. Once you begin to associate the concept of the song titles with the
melodies, it can be as affecting as any moment from the last record. And the remaster is worth
noting, as you can really hear the stellar bass lines. Drink a lot of coffee and get into it.
