Review Summary: Excellent 2012 progressive/electronic.
Tidal Force is a new force in the progressive/electronic field. Their debut release Nebula starts with a 22 minute track which takes us through an array of various textures. It begins with a slow moving synth pattern with at least 5 other layers over that work in perfect compliment. The opening themes sways back and forth and shows the compositional control of the artist quite well. Random ambient effect blaze in and out as if weaving a spider web through a soft piece of matter. The track eventually begins to open up with a in key guitar lead/solo that is also slow moving. A slow building creshendo of a multi-note repeating pattern slowly begins to inch its way into the progressing theme; a characteristic that can be found throughout the whole track. Eventually a programmed beat comes in but only standing way in the back ground. The beat is reserved in a sparing manner. The earlier mentioned multi-notes patterns growns in prominance untile the track has reached full progressive height before falling back down again. This whole track is quite an enjoyable experience and for being progressive/electronic it still feels quite dark and serene.
The two later tracks out of the three are much more experimental in nature. "Gaining Momentum" uses raspy ambient synths and a space rock section in the middle of it. Near the end of this same track there are techniques of native synth effects that job octaves back and forth, almost instaneously. The closing title trackis probably the weakest here as it feels ideas have ran out but its still good track which is basically an ambient/synth-mellow rock track with guitar leads. This is a good 2012 prog/electro release and is well worth everyones time. I highly recommend this album, especially that 22 minute opening track.
