imo it is the best metallica album, right from the opening track FFWF thru to TCOK it is the best album to this point, i couldn't see metallica ever putting out another album like it, though it would be pretty cool

The first half of the album is fucking sweet. Too bad the two songs after those four suck. But I like Call of Ktulu. Creeping Death is alright I guess.

No, there are two tracks that make this not their best.
Agreed. 2nd best.

Yeah, those two tracks bring it down to second best. I can't decide which album has the better instrumental track, though. Orion's second half is better than The Call Of Ktulu, but the first half is a little repetitive and slow moving, while TCOTK is has a consistent level of awesomeness.

Orion by far. The Call of Ktulu has a slow moving beginning too but Orion has more of what Metallica was about. It was more in your face and heavy than The Call of Ktulu for the most part, although TCOK has its fair share of heavyness, Orion surpasses it with ease

Meh, you have a point, but heaviness isn't everything. Orion wins in that sense, sure, but we also have to consider song writing, playback value, repetitiveness, musicianship and etc.

besides, Cliff has some of the best work in his entire career in the later part of the song, his second solo. That right there makes it superior

Yeah, I'd forgotten about the bass work. I suppose Orion does win, but it's a tight race.

Ugh, my disgusting review is still there Anyway, I read this before all of you! (Yeah, cause he submitted it on RYM and he showed me it). Listening to it now, the album feels pretty poor but it was one of my favourites back in the day.

Your review is fine. Anywho, I actually submitted this on Sputnik, then on RYM, so you were not the first to read. Who negged this?

You did? I thought you had put a non-proof read version on RYM?
