"Y'all sound like Gilmoure's mom "let my little Davey have half of every album!""
Fucking lol
|
| |
I always thought this was b-sides and cuts from the wall... but the lyrical content didn't make sense to me in that way
|
| |
I also thought that Waters left the band shortly after this because of Waters trying to take over , hence this album... but Gilmoure really didn't do very well with the band after Waters left... obviously

^It started that way but Waters developed the songs into their own separate entities

and also no, the Division Bell rules
|
| |
also.... was the the wall movie made to go with the album? or vica versa... because if the movie was made first then the flow and senselessness without the movie ... that just makes sense
|
| |
I wouldn't say division bell rules.... its good ... but quite the frustrating listen until it gels.. very hard to get into for me anyway

No the album came first, then the movie to fit the album. Personally I love the Div Bell
|
| |
haha ok well then that second half of the Wall is fucked... some of the best songs they have ever wrote and so much dribble and filler that I have to turn it off, I plan to listen to Div bell again... I remember as a kid (who liked most golden era pink floyd) I hated Div bell and could not fathom an album by them to suck haha.. but i was a kid

I did a review for the Div Bell not too long ago might be worth checking out to see if it changes your mind

"I dont get how an album can be critiqued as "too personal". Why does it matter if Gilmoure didn't do as much as usual? Y'all sound like Gilmoure's mom "let my little Davey have half of every album!". I thought roger's
story was well worth pushing Gilmoure aside for a single album, his voice wouldn't fit in any of this well."
"Too personal" means it's very limited in its experience for an outside source. This is pretty much a Roger Waters solo album, not a PF album. Don't be an idiot.
