These cd is one great cd. That being said it lacks the raw power that these guys once had. The reason most likely being that Waylon has taken J-Manns place as growler. Now Waylon is great at his job, and sounds very powerful, but as the band evolves it loses more members and i'd hate to see this band suck. They are so good that they sound the same in studio as they do live, which is rare since from what i've seen most bands now ssuck live, but these guys are the shit. 12 Hundred and Simple Survival are the leaders of this cd and i've got to say that they are good songs, but what is lacking is that Wayylon doesn't have the experience that J-Mann had, this will assuredly be fixed in time though, because I see a lot of potential in this guy. Some songs have indeed gone lighter which is scarying me, these guys have pulled a good jack of all trades thing for a while, but at this rate i wonder how long they can transist genres. If you need proof look at what happened to Linkin Park.

I think Waylon is a pretty good vocalist, but JMann seemed to be a bit more raw and agressive, but Waylon can sound good loud and can sing well as easy. I though their older albums were better though, XX > XIII > SS. Still, I like this album. Some of the songs seem to have very few lyrics that are repeated over and over again. I'm not sure if they do that with all of their stuff and it is just eaiser to notice on this album or not, but JMann offered more lyrical conent.

Overall, it's a decent album. I love the opening to Damage Done, those drum sounds are awesome.

Yeah a lot of my friends don't like waylon, but i think he does a pretty good job. This album is somewhat lighter sounding but still really good. When i heard Simple Survival, even though i didnt mind it, i was worried that they weren't as hard, but when you hear 12 hundred you start believing again.

The first 4 songs are good, but the album goes down hill pretty quick after.

Yeah, it's certainly a fine album. This is better than the one that came after this, I'll say that much.

Could never get into this band beyond XX. Might give this a shot just for old times sake though

For sure. I'll give it a go. Your post here inspired me to hit up the Motograter thread and I was pleased to see that you were the last person to bump that one as well lol

Definitely. It is a shame it ended at FFDP for sure lol I can still have some fun with the Motograter album though at least. Really like the concept of the homemade instrument with that band also
