I'm glad to hear Ryan is actually getting back to playing live though. He was gold when i saw him in Liverpool.
Demolition is a collection of demos and songs written whilst on tour. I think it's a gem.

yeh i'm also very pleased to hear that, i'm gutted he had to take that break, i'd kill to see him live. Wasn't it one of the Liverpool gigs he broke his wrist?

His site says "No tour dates are available at this time. Please check back later for updates"?
Anyways, this is a great album, both for just relaxing and having it on in the background, or listening to intently it's good.

Yeah, i was at the actual show he broke his wrist in. He didn't interact that much with the crowd, his music did all the talking for him. He had it coming with all the climbing of speakers and so on.
Yes, he has a southern accent. He used to be in the Alt/Country band Whiskeytown, and his solo albums progressed from being very country influenced to this.
I was watching Muchmusic (Canadian version of MTV), and there was a Ryan Adams interview. He talked with a "normal" accent, just a regular non-regional accent. In case you care, which I doubt you do .

I can't believe I hadn't seen this review until now. This is a classic, the album of his career. 5/5

Its funny; I love this album too but we disagree over some major tracks.
"Hotel Chelsea Nights" is the best song off the album. The steamy sounds from the organ puts you on the streets of Chelsea and the wailing gospel in the background puts you in his state of mind. Perfectly conceived song.
Also...
"Please Do Not Let Me Go" is another highlight. "Shadowlands"-esque as it doesn't really pay off until the end of the song.
+ "My Blue Manhattan," and "I See Monsters" are total snoozers.
Best songs:
Hotel Chelsea Nights
Love Is Hell
Shadowlands
English Girls Aprox.
Please Do Not Let Me Go

Every single song on this record is great, and songs like "Afraid Not Scared", "The Shadowland" and "Avalanche" are masterpieces. His greatest album.

"Wonderwall" cover easily destroys the original. And I love Oasis.

"I never got my head round this song until I went to see Ryan Adams play and he did an amazing cover of it"
Noel Gallagher on Wonderwall.
