AIC are one of my favourite bands, probably my second favourite, but to be honest Dirt doesn't excite me. Rain When I Die, Sickman, Junkhead and Dirt are horrible songs in my opinion. Rain and Sickman have cool intros, but the rest is horrible.
But the CD is not without it's gems. It's just those four songs that stink.
As I always say; Alice in Chains (for me) is JERRY CANTRELL.
Oh, and Sean is a brilliant drummer, too. Like Eric Kretz, he knows when to stay back, and when to go psycho.

I'm gonna pick this up.. It looks like a great album.

i think this album is a 5/5, is the best work of AIC and musically is awesome, you don't hear this kind of quality in most of the grunge bands.
but it's a good review, a little low on Down in a Hole but you make your point

I just got this album today, for one dollar! Quite a bargain. So far, it's pretty good.
Steve Vai so copped the main riff to "Dam That River" for his song "Blowfish" on Fire Garden.

This was a good album for about the first five or so listens, then you just get really bored of it. Songs like "Hate to Feel" and "Dam that River" are classic, but I can't seem to get into "Rain When I Die." I find the chorus to be too happy.
Dirt is easily one of the wost albums I've ever heard It's not one of the wost I've ever heard, and that was not backed up in the least. Just so you know.

Ha ha ha. "Wost"-brings tears to my eyes.

This is one of my favorite albums ever. I don't see the point for that song "Iron Gland", I think they should have written another song instead, but other than that this album is perfect.

I find this album to be very overrated, as I was bored with it about three days after buying it.

I needed for this album to grow on me actually. Now it's one of my favourite albums ever.

And how did you get that theory?
|
| |
I don't own this album, but I do have their greatest hits. AIC was always one of those "I love those guys...but I dont own any of their albums" bands for me. I'll have to look more into them. Would? owns me. Good Review too man, nicely done.

Get this then the S/T IMO
|
| |
Cool, thanks man. Their self titled tracklist reminds me...Heaven beside you is tits. Rock.
|
| |
S/T is a dark album yet has a nice mainstream touch to it.

Such a twisted and depressive album, cant get enough of it and I still havent found a similar sounding one
On another note, I think that the joke/screaming track features Tom Araya (Slayer).

When I think of grunge, this album is what I think of...not Nirvana.
