Objectively it's not really a great album because you could say the musicianship is pretty low, the songs all follow the same structure, Shinoda is a bad rapper, the lyrics are cringeworthy at times and cliche the rest of the time BUT when it comes to Nu Metal the songwriting is spot on, the production is flawless and Chester puts in a fantastic performance with tonnes of memorable hooks.

Wow, Shinoda isn't a bad rapper. He's not superb, but he's put out decent stuff.

Albums's not great musically, but it's definitely above average.

A lot of the songs on the first two albums have such a similar song structure/theme it's laughable.

Ok his flows aren't bad for a rapper in a mainstream rock/metal band but the lyrics on this are so lame! I should've just stuck with album has cringe-worthy/cliche lyrics.

I still 4.5 this man it's always a happy memory.

Claygurnz-did you ever see that video of how to make a Linkin Park song where one guy was playing a keyboard like a guitar? It was really well made and spot on to what you were just saying.

No offense but if you think that the guy who wrote the rap parts of kenji, high voltage, it's goin down, with you, forgotten, in the end, lost in the echo, keys to the kingdom, wastelands, victimized and a place for my head is a bad rapper in terms of lyrics and flow you must be tripping fella, even average songs like wretches and kings, when they come for me and hands held high have well constructed rap parts. He was by far the best rapper of the nu metal era in the early 00's and his work a lot better than most of the mainstream rap in the 00's and of this decade, sure there are plenty of hip hop/rap acts that have more quality but still shinoda's work is solid as fuck. In the lyrical part they are good and most of the songs are well constructed, the only problem is that they sing about topics which are considered cliche, still songs here are more complex than the generic 'Why are you doing this? Stop it, I hate you, I hate you, which led to mutple interpretations and people can relate with then various situation

He has a lot of talent, but I feel like when he is in LP he focuses on the grand scheme of things. You know takes care of each part of their music, and doesn't focus that much on raps. I mean after all LP is not a rap band.

Musically this album is simple in guitar and bass, drums here are decent and the stuff made by mr hahn is more complex than the electronic stuff employed by other nu metal bands of the same era, anyways if you want complexity go elsewhere, that's not the main purpouse of linkin.

exactly what intensity is there to be found in an achingly overproduced version of pop nu-metal

I'm pretty aware of that, but still, with the exception of some bland parts in certain songs his rapping in linkin is pretty solid
