Yep. I'd probably hate this album with a passion if I jammed it today. Thus, I won't and I'll keep it a 3.5.

Good idea.

I did the other day, and I winced at how bad some of it was.

One friend actually has the tattoo of the hybrid man, is cool as fuck. This album is pure gold, was my favorite album in my childhood and I still listen a lot of the songs contained here.

This is one of those sentimental classics that some people defend, is a shame that they're works since MTM are just mixed bags

This is a classic in my heart. I listened to this and Dookie every day biking to middle school, and I
definitely have an emotional attachment with it.

I don't think it should be classified as metal, but that doesn't matter cuz a very solid work.

this and nevermind are pretty much the two most overrated albums in rock history

I don't consider this album overrated at all. In fact, the works of this band ( including this album) get a lot of hate of some people ,hate that I consider exaggerated. More than nevermind, appetite for destruction and other works consider by some rock circles overrated.

the "shut up when i'm talking to you" is still one of the most cringeworthy lines i've heard in any song

Obviously is not the best album of the century ( everybody knows that kid), but is far from being bad as many people preach. It has a great production, almost every song here is really catchy, the vocal work is remarkable, the rapping is more than decent ( in fact of one the most solid in the genre, far better than shaddix and fred durst) and the electronic effects are very good ( Joe Hahn did a great job here, obviously he's not at same level of acts like aphex twin but his work in cure for the itch and more is solid). The only problem that i saw is that the instrumentation of forgotten is very similar to break stuff, but lyrics and the vocal work of chester are far better than that shitty song for wiggers that want to act like cheap thugs.

Durst is a cunt that can't rap for saving his miserable life, he's a twat and all his fans are a cancer for normal and decent people, comparing durst with shinoda or bennington is like comparing an firecracker with an atomic bomb. Instrumentation is standard, joe hahn and rob bourdon do a good job, I can't say the same of Pheonix which is one of worst bassist of the nu metal era, brad delson is an standard nu metal guitar player but is not bad in his area. The vocals of chester are really good and he has a wide range, he has prove that he's a vocalist with a notorious versatility, but I understand that some people doesn't like at all his fry screaming.
