I like BTBAM, and my username has nothing to do with me liking nu-metal btw. Mudvayne is one of tons of bands/artists I listen to. L.D. 50 is classic to me and is very inspirational. They are the only band I actualluy care to listen to that is considered nu-metal anymore. Please don't judge my taste in music based on my username.

oh don't worry i won't, i accept that because i can tell that we share a lot of other similar tastes in music desregarding the nu-metal. I could care less what other people listen to, but if somewhere in their minds they find a similarity of musical taste to me then i can respect u that much more.

I love this cd too, but the acoustic track before vela is so overly redundant, all they do is go through a few chords in varying ways. But the rest of the cd makes up for that.

Yeah, I'm not sure that track was necessary. Maybe the part when the piano comes in would be sufficient as a part of "Vela...".

This is a contender for album of the year. No joke. I just picked this up randomly and this is one of the best things I've heard in a very long time. With good time I might even give this a 5/5. Who knows?

They just don't stop sweeping...

Well, they receive criticism for only doing arpeggios, but they do more than that. I have a post on one of these pages explaining why it isn't a big deal since it is their style, go read that.
I lowered this to a 4 solely because other than "Vela, ...", the last half of the album is kind of weak.

It doesn't bother me that they sweep alot. So does Arsis...but lots of people like them still.

I like both of them and the fact that they sweep a lot.
Other people complain about THA though.

Well those people can shut up. Sure there is tons of sweeping, but that's certainly not the only thing that they do. People just like to take one thing and bitch about it. They still do plenty of technical riffing, breakdowns, and clean/acoustic guitar stuff...so there's more than enough to keep me interested.

To people who complain about THA sweeping: you suck

They aren't like any other metalcore band. Most metalcore isn't as near as progressive.

Thor, did you add Opeth and Death to the similar bands part on the band page? Those seem a little out of place considering the caliber of those two.

Ok I might get mad flamed for this, but did these guys remind anyone else of a heavier Protest The Hero at first? And a bit better one too IMO.

These guys are a much worse PTH. I saw them live and other than the guitarist it was boring as shit, and totally pointed out that they basically just use him to distract from mediocre songwriting. They're buds with protest though.

Well I figured you would say that but in terms of style of music can you see the comparisions at all?

Edit: I must add that I haven't listened to a lot of THA or PTH so if I am making myself out to be an ass please let me know. This Message Edited On 01.08.07

I'm going on two hours of sleep, but to me these guys are a lot less familiar with how to actually write songs. I'm all for "the shred", but when it comes to this album a lot of it is totally gratuitous and doesnt add anything to the music. Most of the melodies are awkward and the vocals are downright atrocious; Rody may be distinct and therefore annoying to some, but he can at least sing.

I definitely thought this was like a low-grade Kezia when I heard it. It's their first album and they obviously haven't been writing long, I know their vocalist was a fairly recent addition, and based on the early versions I've heard of these songs they have been improving, so here's hoping they keep on trekking. But as it stands, this album is pretty mediocre.

But that's just me. I'm coming off as harsh and that's the lack of sleep talking. There's definite similarities between the two albums but this one comes off as wholly contrived and more or less half-assed.This Message Edited On 01.08.07
