Now that is awesomeness without limits.

I'm pretty sure that little sampled clip at the beginning of the CD is the first couple seconds of a Rush song...called "YYZ" I believe
I'd have knocked down Mr. Knowitall's rating a point - I just find it kind of obnoxious without reward
Pudding Time and Toys are great! I'd have put them up a point or two - Pudding time is funky, tight and silly yet it rocks: classic Primus. Toys is dark and original : again, classic Primus
See Redi86's post for my two cents on Groundhog's day
but hey that's me, and I didn't write the review

i'm a huge primus fan... one of the biggest, i'd say.
my favorite album... that's a toughy. i'd have to say Frizzle Fry, although i also like Cheese and Brown. hell, i like all of them... anyway.
the live clip from To Defy The Laws of Tradition is on Suck On This (their first album), John The Fisherman.
Groundhog's Day isn't the best song instrumentally, but you've got to love the lyrics. in a lot of primus songs, the lyrics make the song. it's just the goofy, witty nature of them. it basically nails what i do every morning... lol.
i learned To Defy The Laws of Tradition on bass, and it's a very fun song. one of my favorites.
Too Many Puppies is a classic. it's a good thing they released that song years ago and not during the elections... heh, primus is definitely one of the bands smart enough to stay out of political propaganda.
Mr. Knowitall is very repetitive. i like it, but it's not my favorite by far. "...and whatever rhymes with eloquent"
Toys Go Winding Down is great... John the Fisherman is, next to My Name Is Mud (for some bizarre reason) the most popular primus song... (you'd think something more along the lines of Tommy the Cat or Jerry Was a Racecar Driver.)
i could go on and on about primus... but i'll stop here.

I actually still think Jerry is the most well known Primus song out there. Everyone; not even primus fans know that song once they hear it.

The most well-known Primus song is the South Park theme, followed by "Jerry..." because it was on the first Tony Hawk soundtrack.

Youd actually be suprised how many people dont know Primus did that song.

Mr Knowitall isn't that great, neither is Toys.
The intro to Defy the laws is from YYZ yes.

first time i heard it i was hella high its
a really good album

too many puppies deserves 5/5

Rating downshifted to a 4, as the song ratings don't justify full marks.

I prefer sailing the seas of cheese but this is still an amazing album probably their second best. The live DVD Hallucenogenetics is amazing as well and has tthis whole album featured on it.

This is Primus' best album. Sailing The Seas Of Cheese is good too, but it's produced too cleanly to allow Primus' sound to come across well to me.

This album has some great classics AND is a great all-around. Although from a subjective standpoint, I like TFTPB more, I think when taking an objective viewpoint, you have to rank this as their classic.
Fav songs: Spegetti Western, John the Fisherman, and Frizzle Fry. (many other greats, though)
Album rating: 5/5
